Infrared HeatersCeramic Infrared Heaters were developed in 1965 by Dr. Tadashi Ishikawa, a member of the Research and Development Department of Fuji Medical in Japan. He received a patent for these Zirconia Ceramic Infrared Heaters which were used in the first healing infrared thermal systems. Doctors in Japan used and tested these infrared systems for 14 years before they were released for public use in 1979. The heaters were refined and have been sold in the United States since 1981 in complete Infra-Red Therapy Systems. Hospitals in the United States have used Infrared heat to warm newborn babies for many years. The description of a Infrared Heater is sand that is warmed by a electrical coil that has been placed inside the sand. These two items are then contained in a ceramic tube that has been developed to the needs of the tissue of the human body. They are placed inside a grill covered by a soft coating that is safe to touch while the heaters are on. Infrared heating systems have been tested in Japan and at the Swedish National Institute of Radiation Protection and both have found infra-red heating systems free of toxic electro magnetic fields and are not dangerous. The use of Infra-red heat has been reported by Japanese researchers to be an antidote to the negative effects of toxic electro magnetic sources such as those from high-tension power lines, cell phones, or from computer display terminals. Since 1979 Health Mate has served as a bench mark
in the industry, innovation with the latest
technology to provide quality far infra red home
saunas. Health Mate has an in house research
department that has developed the state of the art
patented M type far infrared heaters making them
specifically for the human body. It is crucial for a heater to evenly
emit far infrared heat. The image below shows how our heaters emit
far infrared heat evenly.
In this image, numbers on the left side show temperatures with colors and the image on the right side shows infrared emissions. Heater surface temperature should be be 480.89 degrees F or lower to emit far infrared. Our test results, conducted by Health Mates' R&D Department, show that the average surface temperature of their heaters is 370.88 degrees F, and the minimum IE value is 6.34, so green or blue is OK, but yellow or red emits middle or near infrared. As you see in this picture, Health Mates' Heaters shows mostly even blue colors throughout the heater, which means it truly emits far infrared. Health Mates' Patented State of the Art M type heaters use a ceramic heater core coated with Incoloy, which is a metal alloy that is effective in high temperature applications. ![]()
PLEASE NOTE: Some Sellers claim that their infrared heaters emit 9-14 microns with false or no scientific evidence. Be cautious about this kind of fraudulent information. In order to emit 9 microns, the heater surface temperature should be 100 degrees F or less. That's slightly higher thqt our skin temperature! It is obvious that you can't sweat with those heaters. Either their claims about wavelengths is fraudulent or you can't sweat enough in their saunas. Health Mate does not make such claims to sell saunas. That is one of the reasons why Health Mate has been trusted ad loved by customers for nearly 30 years.
